Palletised distribution network Palletforce has added two new members in key strategic locations, creating extra network capacity to help boost service and growth.
Route2 Logistics, which has its headquarters in Dunfermline and a main depot in Glasgow will manage KY postcodes around Kirkaldy, Dunfermline, Glenrothes and St Andrews, whilst Huyton-based Pro-Despatch will handle CH postcodes around Birkenhead and the Wirral.
Dufermline-headquartered Route2 Logistics operates a total of 130 vehicles and has 270 staff. The company recently opened a new depot in Coatbridge, near Glasgow, and says it has its sights firmly set on developing its network freight operations and building a loyal customer base.
Joe Wall, Route2 Logistics managing director, said: “Operating originally as food wholesalers, we move a lot of freight between our own depots and we run an extensive delivery fleet, which has now developed into a standalone B2B distribution business.
“Palletforce works for us as we have our own freight to input and have trunks running back north into Scotland.
“Palletforce was recommended after we spoke to a few other members. The inter-member relationships in the network are very good and there’s a very pragmatic working approach between the members, and that works well.”
Pro-Despatch was founded by Chris Martin and Andy O’Dowd in 2021 as a parcel courier but has expanded to incorporate a fleet of 40 vehicles and 65 staff, based at depots in Warrington and Huyton.
Pro-Despatch attributes its growth to its ethos of customer service and a reputation for improving commercial relationships. It added that in response to customer demand, it moved into pallet distribution and targeted network membership to drive further growth.
Chris Martin, Pro-Despatch director, said: “Joining Palletforce provides us with the opportunity to offer customers a full suite of distribution services – from same-day courier work to next-day palletised freight, full loads and international deliveries.
“We visited the SuperHub and were very impressed with what was in place. Everyone has been extremely helpful and other members have been brilliant with us.
“Palletforce has been a great network to join, it is amazing to see how everyone sticks together and helps each other out.”
Chris Dennigan, Palletforce network development director, said: “Palletforce continues to attract a wide range of industry sector specialists as we continue to build network capacity, add market expertise and strengthen our network.
“Our values, commitment to service and ongoing investment continue to highlight Palletforce as a partner of choice for the UK logistics sector.
“We welcome both Route2 Logistics and Pro-Despatch to the Palletforce network and are excited to have them on board as we prioritise delivering the highest levels of service and customer experience.”
