Third party logistics provider Pall-Ex Logistics has achieved the prestigious BRCGS ‘AA’ rating for Storage and Distribution at its flagship Watford Gap facility, marking the highest possible standard for supply chain safety and operational excellence.
The globally recognised BRCGS certification serves as the gold standard for businesses handling food safety, packaging and consumer goods.
To achieve the elite AA status, the Watford Gap site - which opened in August 2024 - underwent a rigorous audit of warehouse operations, internal processes and distribution procedures to ensure that products remain safe throughout the entire storage and delivery process.
News of the accreditation follows a £200,000 injection of funds into the site, which saw it expand its services to include cross-docking, container clearance and order fulfilment.
The 70,000 sq ft facility - which offers up to 7,000 pallet spaces - acts as a key regional hub for Pall-Ex’s shareholder members, enabling them to streamline palletised freight distribution.
Commenting on the endorsement, Paul Pegg (pictured), Pall-Ex Logistics managing director, said the award was a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication.
He added: “BRCGS is recognised as a prestigious measure of quality across the whole industry. It’s an achievement that gives our customers added confidence that their freight is being stored and handled with the care and precision we’ve become known for over the last 30 years. We’re excited to see what else the year brings.”
