Pall-Ex said it had secured the continued development of its brand in Italy after signing a 20-year license and partnership deal with Italian Pallet Network, the firm that manages Pall-Ex Italia.

Launched in 2009 as the group’s first overseas Pall-Ex network, Pall-Ex Italia has grown to become the group’s largest European partner network.

It handles around 19,000 pallets per night through its network of more than 200 local members, with nine hubs across the Italian peninsula, three of these being flagship locations in Milan, Bologna and Padua.

The announcement follows a series of developments across Europe by Pall-Ex Group, including the acquisition of Pall-Ex Iberia by Cologne-based Emons Logistics Group and the launch of a distribution hub for Pall-Ex France.

Kevin Buchanan, group CEO of Pall-Ex Group, said: “Pall-Ex Italia represents one of the great success stories across our wider European operations.

“Beginning as the group’s first overseas partner, it has grown into the group’s largest and most established international partner.

“This new agreement reflects the strength of our relationship and our shared ambition for success.”

Melissa Alberti, CEO of Italian Pallet Network S.p.A., added: “Pall-Ex Italia’s success has been built on strong partnerships, operational excellence and the commitment of our members and people across the network.

“This agreement represents an important milestone for our business and reinforces the strength of our long-standing partnership with Pall-Ex Group.

“Together, we will continue to invest in the network and drive further growth both across the Italian market and the wider European network.”
