The recently retired GXO chief executive, who oversaw major acquisitions including Clipper Logistics and Wincanton, was honoured at the ninth annual awards ceremony alongside winners across 12 categories.

Malcolm Wilson, the recently retired former CEO of GXO Logistics, was a popular winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ninth annual Logistics UK Awards last week. During his tenure, GXO acquired Clipper Logistics and Wincanton among others, increasing revenue from $7.9bn (£6bn) in 2021 to $11bn in the year ended September 30 2024. Wilson was formerly CEO of XPO before it spun off the logistics business as GXO and CEO of Norbert Dentressangle whewn it was acquired by XPO in 2015.

Woodland Logistics was named Road Transport Operator of the Year, while the Transport Manager of the Year award went to Lee Thiompson-Halls of recycling specialist Brocklesby.

The awards, hosted by comedian Hugh Dennis and sponsored by Crown Oil, were held at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel on December 11.
