FedEx has placed an order for 131 tractor units for its operations in the UK, France and the Netherlands.
The express transport company said it was not only replacing linehaul trucks currently in operation, but also adding DAFs to its French work for the first time.
The fleet additions comprise 100 XD tractor units for FedEx’s UK work, 20 XFs for long-distance transport in France and 11 XG tractors for the Netherlands.
The DAF XD 450 is being deployed for regional and national distribution and the XF 480 Sleeper Cab will be used for longer-haul operations.
FedEx added that for routes where cab interior space was important, it had selected the XG 480.
Safia Ladhari, FedEx MD of network operations in Europe, said: “We are committed to operating a safe, efficient and reliable fleet across Europe.
“The addition of these DAF vehicles supports our ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency while providing our teams with modern, high-quality trucks backed by a strong service network.”
