One of the largest family-owned foodservice companies in the South West has been acquired by independent wholesaler Kitwave as part of its growth strategy.
Charles Saunders Foodservice will now join Kitwave’s foodservice division alongside Creed Foodservice, Total Foodservice, WestCountry Food Holdings and Fife Creamery.
Kitwave said there would be no changes to Charles Saunders’ depot, operations, sales or head office teams, and the existing leadership remained in place, with Darren Gaulton appointed as executive director and Kim Carwardine as MD.
Charles Saunders is authorised to run 31 HGVs out of a Yate, Bristol operating centre under a restricted goods vehicle licence.
