Pallet pooler IPP has shown it knows its onions and is celebrating a doubling in the number of pallets it provides veg firm Moulton Bulb in five years.
The company now provides the leading supplier of onions with 120,000 pallets every year, which in turn supplies 25% of all UK supermarket onion volume for supermarket stores.
IPP ensures Moulton Bulb’s products reach its customers reliably and in perfect condition, on pallets which are repaired, reused and recycled as part of the circular economy.
“We understand Moulton Bulb’s processes and help keep everything running smoothly in its supply chain by being easy to work with, proactive and providing a consistently high level of service,” said Demi Crabbe, commercial director at IPP.
“They know that if there’s a problem, we can fix it. They know they can pick up the phone to us whenever they need support.”
Moulton Bulb said it packed up to 1,700 tonnes of onions for retailers each week: “I think it’s the simplicity of the relationship that’s key,” added director Robert Oldershaw.
“Pallets are, in many ways, a commodity product – you simply need them to work. The simpler the process, the better.
“Our relationship with IPP just flows in the background and works seamlessly.”
