DAF dealer and CV services provider HTC Group has expanded its partnership with same-day delivery firm Gophr to offer flexible transport support across its branches in the south of England.
Gophr will support HTC Group with urgent one-hour parts deliveries and same-day courier services during periods of increased demand, as well as staff holiday and sickness cover.
HTC Group said it would get access to urgent deliveries as requirements arise, with real-time tracking and proof of delivery providing end-to-end visibility.
It said that despite it already holding extensive parts in stock and having its own delivery operation, the Gophr tie-in provided “a layer of resilience” for when capacity was stretched.
Andrew Moreton, group parts sales manager at HTC Group, said: “Our customers rely on us to keep vehicles on the road, so when a part is needed urgently, time is very much money.
“They can’t afford to have stationary vehicles.
“We have a strong delivery operation across our branches, but there will always be those moments when the picture changes rapidly, or extra capacity is needed.”
Gophr’s business development manager Claire Mullarkey said its role was to provide HTC Group’s existing network with responsive capacity: “Whether that is an urgent one-hour delivery, a same-day movement between branches or cover when resources are stretched, we can help get the right part to the right place before a small delay becomes a much higher operational cost,” she added.
The partnership follows a similar agreement struck with Edinpharm at the start of the year, in which the pharma buying group draws on Gophr whenever deliveries exceed internal capacity, due to staffing pressures, rising prescription volumes or the need for urgent doorstep drops.
