Glasgow-based 3PL provider Green Fulfilment has gained its B Corporation certification, which the company said reflects its ”unwavering” commitment to social and environmental standards, transparency and accountability.

Green Fulfilment, which was founded by Cain Fleming (pictured left) and Rukhsar Ahmed (pictured right) in 2016, operates four UK fulfilment centres offering fast delivery, with a 98% same-day dispatch service, and employs around 40 staff.

Announcing the award, Fleming said the accreditation ”comes at a crucial moment when the environmental impact of the logistics industry is under increased scrutiny. This achievement demonstrates that success and sustainability can go hand-in-hand within this sector.”

He added that the company’s B Corp status represents its commitment to making a difference. ”B Corp certification is more than just a badge of honour – it’s a powerful symbol of our unwavering commitment to sustainable business practices that create a positive impact on the world.

”We’re passionate about minimising our environmental footprint while providing our clients with exceptional service. This certification validates our efforts and fuels our ambition to push the boundaries of what a 3PL company can achieve in terms of sustainability and social responsibility.”

To acheive its B Corp status the Green Fulfilment team had to meet rigorous standards across five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. The certification process also evaluated the company’s energy use, waste management, employee well-being, and corporate transparency.

The company now joins a prestigious community of over 8,000 businesses worldwide that have earned B Corp certification, including The Guardian, Innocent, Patagonia, and Abel & Cole.

Looking to the future, Fleming added: ”With B Corp certification in hand, Green Fulfilment is poised to continue its growth as a leader in sustainable logistics. We remain dedicated to providing eco-conscious brands with reliable and responsible order fulfilment solutions, ensuring a greener future for the industry.”

He said the company is ”incredibly proud” to have gained its B Corp certification. ”It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team and reinforces our commitment to operating a business that is a force for good,” he explained.

Rukhsar Ahmed added: “Our rapid growth and B Corp certification underscore our dedication to sustainable practices and client satisfaction. We are excited about our expansion plans, which will enhance our ability to meet the dynamic needs of our clients while continuing to uphold our commitment to sustainability.”

Chris Turner, B Lab UK executive director, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Green Fulfilment to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies committed to changing how business operates, demonstrating that business can indeed be a force for good. We know that Green Fulfilment will be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward.”
