Parcel freight, secure courier, two-person and logistics services provider DX Group has opened a new depot in Ipswich as part of its programme to expand and develop its depot network.
The group said the launch of the new depot “significantly increases” DX’s capacity in the region.
The new site is located on Foxtail Road, Ransomes Europark and comprises a 21,125sq ft facility.
It is the latest addition to the group’s Parcels network, part of the DX Express division, which provides highly secure, tracked deliveries to both business and consumer addresses.
The new depot replaces a smaller DX Express depot and will improve operational efficiencies, reduce carbon emissions and enhance customer service levels, which DX said is a key focus for the group.
Paul Ibbetson, DX Group chief executive, commented: “We are pleased to open this new DX Express depot in Ipswich as part of our continued investment in the business.
“The new depot will enhance our position in Suffolk, increasing the capacity and capability of our parcels operation. It will deliver further efficiencies to our operations and provide enhanced local customer service benefits, a priority for the group.
“Enlarging and improving the depot network underpins the continued successful delivery of our growth plans over the short to medium term, and we look forward to reporting on further openings over the forthcoming months.”
