Parcel delivery specialist DX Group is continuing to roll out new depots at pace with its latest launch taking place in Aberdeen.

The new 4,000 sq ft facility, which is located on J Badentoy Business Centre in Portlethen, replaces an existing depot and will add capacity to the group’s parcels operation - part of the DX Express division.

The group said the new depot will also improve operational efficiencies, reduce stem mileages, carbon emissions, and enhance customer service levels.

It added that the DX Parcels operation remains a major area of growth for the group with further capital investment planned over the remainder of the year to support this.

Paul Ibbetson, DX Group chief executive, said: “The current financial year is a major year of investment across the group. This latest depot opening in Aberdeen provides a much improved facility and significantly increases our capability in the area for our parcels operations. It also delivers further efficiencies alongside environmental and customer service benefits.

“Enlarging and improving the depot network underpins the continued successful delivery of our growth plans over the short to medium term. We look forward to reporting on further openings over the coming months.”

Depots opened this year by DX Group include sites at Preston, Carlisle, East Grinstead and Sligo in the Republic of Ireland.

In November DX Group, which has its headquarters in Slough, was bought by US-based private equity giant HIG Capital for £315m.
