Parcel freight, secure courier, two-person and logistics specialist DX Group has opened a new depot in Southampton and is promising to open more sites in the coming months.
The opening increases the group’s capacity in the region and continues DX’s programme to expand and develop its depot network.
The new site, which is located in Chandler’s Ford, Eastleigh, comprises a 25,000sq ft facility and replaces a smaller depot in Totton.
It is the latest addition to the group’s Parcels network, part of the DX Express division, which provides highly secure, tracked deliveries to both business and consumer addresses.
Announcing its latest depot launch, DX said the new depot will improve operational efficiencies, reduce carbon emissions and enhance customer service levels.
Paul Ibbetson, DX Group chief executive, commented: “We are pleased to open this new DX Express depot in Southampton as part of our continued investment in the business.
“The new depot will enhance our position in Hampshire, increasing the capacity and capability of our parcels operation.
“It will deliver further efficiencies to our operations and provide enhanced local customer service benefits, a priority for the group.
“Enlarging and improving the depot network underpins the continued successful delivery of our growth plans over the short to medium term, and we look forward to reporting on further openings over the forthcoming months.”
