Nick Fletcher, MP for Don Valley, recently visited logistics firm JMS Doncaster where he toured the facilities, met with employees, and discussed key issues impacting the local logistics industry.
During the visit, the Conservative MP engaged with JMS Doncaster staff, specifically focusing on haulage deliveries, the Pallet-Track network, of which JMS is a shareholder member, and the current HGV driver shortage.
John Sheard, JMS Doncaster MD, (pictured right) stated: “We’re grateful to Mr Fletcher for his visit and his interest in the logistics sector. Driver shortages are a major concern for our industry, and we discussed potential solutions to bridge this gap.”
The MP also had the opportunity to view two recently delivered DAF XG530 tractor units and a DAF 18t rigid vehicle, part of JMS’s ongoing fleet expansion. In the past six months, JMS has added six new vehicles to its fleet, as the company has continued to grow.
MP Nick Fletcher (pictured left) said: “I am extremely impressed with the exciting growth of JMS. I believe that it’s so important for Doncaster to be on the map and this company is certainly doing that and for all the right reasons.
”We need to support our local businesses as that is how we will create jobs, prosperity and that strong local economy that is so critical to our communities in Doncaster.”
