Palletline London is preparing to reap the benefits of increased night time deliveries in London, as pedestrianisation initiatives in the capital gather momentum, general manager Ucal McLeod said this week.
Transport for London (TfL) plans to enhance accessibility for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users will see major arteries, such as Oxford Street, set for major transformations, which could restrict daytime freight movement, boosting demand for alternative delivery schedules.
Palletline London, which is part of pallet network Palletline, is looking forward to meeting this growing demand. The company which has a fleet of 26 Direct Vision Standard (DVS) compliant vehicles, including three electric vehicles, is already facilitating in-night deliveries for major brands such as LPP and BrewDog.
McLoed said: “These partnerships highlight the company’s capability and readiness to support businesses navigating new logistical challenges such as the pedestrianisation plans.”
He added: “Palletline London has been providing in-night delivery services to the retail sector for anumber of years.
“We have the expertise and necessary resources in place to meet the growing demand whilst at the same time better utilising our fleet - it’s a win-win.”
Pointing to the company’s DVS compliant fleet as well as its three electric vehicles and an experienced team, McLoed added: “Palletline London has the necessary expertise to help businesses meet stringent security and compliance requirements, which are often associated with night time deliveries.
“Deliveries of high value designer goods, for example, often require double-manned teams and additional training and compliance to ensure security and operational accuracy.”
He also highlighted the capital’s lack of night time congestion, which allows Palletline London to get in and out of London much faster.
“It’s simply more efficient,” he said, adding: “As London continues to prioritise pedestrian-friendly zones, businesses will need reliable and adaptable logistics solutions to maintain supply chains efficiently.
“Palletline London is well placed to meet this demand head-on, to ensure businesses can continue operating smoothly, regardless of the ever-changing city landscape.”
