North Wales logistics firm Delsol International is celebrating a strong first year of independent trading, with turnover on track to reach £1m and a strengthened leadership team in place to drive its next stage of growth.

The international division was formally separated from the wider Delsol Group in July 2024 under a strategic move led by group chief executive Kathy Jones, a decision that has quickly delivered results as demand for streamlined global logistics services continues to rise.

Alongside its rapid growth trajectory, the business has promoted long-standing team member Claire Maddock to finance director. Maddock, who has been with Delsol since 2010, has played a central role in the company’s commercial development, overseeing invoicing operations and contributing to key strategic decisions.

She joins global commercial strategy manager Jake Smithurst and international business operations manager Dylan Walker on the senior team responsible for scaling the business further.

Smithurst, who joined initially on a temporary basis after completing a law degree, has since moved into a key growth role, while Walker has progressed from work experience in 2016 to help build the international division alongside Smithurst.

The company said the strengthened leadership structure reflects its ambition to expand operations and support Welsh businesses with simplified import and export services, enabling wider access to global markets.

Looking ahead, Delsol International plans to scale capacity further while maintaining its focus on customer service, operational efficiency and reducing its environmental impact by increasing use of its own transport network.

Jones said she was proud of the company’s progress since the split, praising the team’s ambition and commitment. She said the business remained firmly rooted in Wales while building a platform for international growth, combining global reach with a strong customer-focused approach.
