The haulage alliance between Davies Turner and Transport Equipment Services (TES) has taken another step forward with the addition of two Renault’s T-High trucks, recently acquired by TES, which are now in operation for Davies Turner.
The new units will help support Coleshill-based Davies Turner’s nationwide and European logistics operations.
Davies Turner said the alliance with TES, which has its headquarters in Felixstowe, supports its provision of a dedicated HGV fleet to move clients’ containers to and from the UK’s major container ports.
The partnership provides surety of service for Davies Turner’s domestic collections and deliveries of containers, helping the company avoid the challenges of driver shortages, port congestion problems, and forward booking difficulties.
Alan Williams, director of Davies Turner, said: “Our alliance with TES helps us to offer merchant haulage, which is more advantageous if a client needs flexibility, variety, availability and reliability.
“It enables us to book haulage in advance and guarantees that the tractor unit will be available when and where we want it. It has helped us to secure timely transport of our clients’ containers in a challenging haulage market.”
Dave Burgess, director of TES added: “Davies Turner is a very important customer and an outstanding partner. It is really pleasing that our relationship continues to develop and grow.
“We are pleased to commit two of our newly acquired trucks to serving the company’s haulage requirements. Both are fully specified to meet Davies Turner’s operational needs and reflect the high standards to which we both work.”
Williams said the alliance also gives Davies Turner a competitive edge in the market. He said: “Davies Turner places great value on long term alliances and partnerships, and believes that an alliance like that with TES helps to differentiate it from many of its peers in the freight and logistics sector.”
