Meachers Global Logistics recently welcomed Labour MP Darren Paffey to a behind-the-scenes visit to its Carnival cruise logistics operation at the Port of Southampton.

The visit comes just three months after Meachers landed a ten-year contract renewal with cruise company Carnival UK to support P&O Cruises, extending a partnership of more than 25 years.
The MPs visit included a tour of Meachers’ site in Nursling where the MP was introduced to the scale, precision, and coordination required to manage complex cruise supply chains.
Paffey then continued to the Port of Southampton for a terminal tour, providing further insight into how logistics providers, port operators, and cruise lines work together.
Gary Whittle, Meachers Global Logistics operations director, said: “Welcoming Darren Paffey MP to our operation was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the vital work that takes place behind the scenes to support the UK’s cruise industry.
“Our partnership with Carnival UK, combined with our strong links to the Port of Southampton, highlights the importance of collaboration across the logistics and maritime sectors. We are proud to play our part in keeping Southampton at the forefront of global cruise operations.”
MP Darren Paffey added: “Southampton’s maritime sector is part of what makes our city special and supports thousands of local jobs.
“It was good to visit Meachers’ logistics operation and learn more about the role it plays in maintaining our city’s position as a pre-eminent global cruise hub.
“This is such a complex operation with many moving parts, and it was helpful to see this in person and understand more about what we can do to work together to support this vital sector.”
Meachers Global Logistics is also part of the Palletways UK network, providing collection, storage and nationwide delivery of palletised goods from SO postcodes.
