Cox Automotive has acquired its logistics partner Bruntingthorpe Logistics in a move aimed at strengthening operational stability and securing long term vehicle movement capacity, the company has revealed.

Bruntingthorpe Logistics has handled vehicle movements into and out of Cox Automotive’s key preparation centres for many years, forming part of the logistics infrastructure underpinning Manheim Vehicle Services.

The company specialises in vehicle transportation and is based at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire. It offers multi-car delivery, covered transport, and fleet management for car dealerships, auction houses, and rental companies, boasting a fleet of 22 transporters

As part of the acquisition, Bruntingthorpe Logistics’s drivers and operational team will transfer to Cox Automotive.

Bruntingthorpe Logistics operations director Martyn Rose will remain in post, while owner Paul Cox will support the transition before retiring later this year.

Cox Automotive said MVS will also continue to support Bruntingthorpe Logistics’s remaining customers to ensure continuity during the transition.

Paul Cox, Bruntingthorpe Logistics owner, said: “Bruntingthorpe Logistics has worked closely with Cox Automotive for many years, and this step feels like a natural progression for the business and the team.

“Our colleagues have always taken great pride in delivering a dependable service, and I’m pleased to see BLL join an organisation that values that commitment. I’m confident this move will provide long-term stability and opportunity for everyone involved.”

Liam Quegan, Cox Automotive Wholesale managing director, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome the Bruntingthorpe Logistics team into Cox Automotive. They’ve been an essential partner in the success of Manheim Vehicle Services, and this acquisition will help us continue to grow with confidence while maintaining the strong operational foundations our customers expect.”

“This is an exciting moment for Manheim Vehicle Services. As demand increases and our operations expand, securing the right capability and expertise within our logistics network is vital. Bringing Bruntingthorpe Logistics into the business supports that ambition and positions us strongly for the future.”

Cox Automotive said both organisations are now working on a phased integration plan to maintain service continuity.
