Transport technology provider Microlise has been selected by furniture and home accessories business Coach House to modernise its transport operation and create a more efficient, scalable platform for growth.
The family-run wholesale furniture supplier will roll out Microlise’s Planning & Optimisation, Journey Management and SmartPOD solutions across its 20 HGVs, replacing paper-based processes and bringing separate systems together to improve visibility, planning efficiency and control.
The technology will also introduce digital workflows for drivers and SMS delivery notifications for customers, providing greater visibility throughout each journey while reducing manual administration.
Coach House, which carries out around 28,000 deliveries a year, currently manages its transport operation using a mix of technology platforms and manual processes.
The company said that while this has supported its growth to date, increasing operational demands prompted the leadership team to look for a more integrated and scalable approach.
The aim was to reduce duplicate effort, improve the utilisation of transport resources and provide better-quality operational data to support decision-making.
In phase one of the partnership, Coach House will bring journey management, electronic proof of delivery (ePOD) and scheduled versus actual fleet performance into a single system.
This will give the team more consistent operational information, reduce administration for planners and drivers and provide customers with more timely delivery updates.
The implementation will also lay the groundwork for Coach House’s longer-term technology strategy, with future phases potentially extending Microlise across compliance, fleet management, vehicle checks, tachograph management, telematics and camera technology.
Nadeem Raza, Microlise chief executive, said: “Coach House has built a successful transport operation, and as the business continues to grow, it needs technology that can grow with it.
“By bringing key transport processes together, our technology will give the team greater visibility of deliveries while making day-to-day work simpler for planners and drivers.
“Just as importantly, it will provide a scalable foundation for Coach House to continue developing its transport operation as its requirements evolve.”
Danny Bovingdon, Coach House director added: “Our transport operation has evolved alongside the growth of the business, and we want to build on that success by reducing manual processes and giving our team better visibility and information.
“Microlise stood out because it can support what we need today while giving us the flexibility to develop our transport technology over the longer term.
“We expect the new platform to help reduce planning and administration, improve visibility and utilisation across the fleet and give our customers better information about their deliveries.”
Coach House signed the agreement with Microlise in July 2026.
