CEVA Logistics has bolstered its UK transport network with the addition of 165 new DAF trucks, as part of a major fleet investment aimed at delivering a more sustainable road transport operation across the UK.
The 165 DAF trucks are powered by HVO, in a move which is part of the company’s CEVA FORPLANET suite of low carbon solutions and its wider commitment to reach net zero by 2050.
Using HVO fuel significantly reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 90% compared with conventional diesel. CEVA said the move not only supports its strategy to reduce its environmental impact but also while ensures its operational performance is maintained.
CEVA has also equipped all 165 vehicles with advanced telematics to improve route optimisation, enhance operational visibility and support driver wellbeing.
The new DAF trucks also feature advanced fuel-efficient drivetrains, aerodynamic cab design and the latest safety technologies.
The vehicles were supplied by Ford & Slater and leasing provider TIP Group, and significantly increase the company’s UK vehicle footprint.
Paul Farr, CEVA Logistics president of ground and rail in Europe, said: “This investment demonstrates our long-term commitment to the UK market and to the customers who depend on us every day.
“By investing in a modern, lower-emission fleet supported by advanced digital technology, we are strengthening the reliability, quality and sustainability of our UK operations.
“As a strategic pillar of our corporate CSR strategy, we are committed to Acting for Planet and will continue to invest in two carbon solutions that reduce emissions and enable our customers to meet their own decarbonisation goals.”
