Campeys opens major warehouse as food logistics drive gathers pace

The award-winning family firm said the major investment was made after the company won two “significant” new storage contracts with leading food manufacturers.

Combined, the new contracts and current operations will occupy around 50% of the new facility, with the remaining capacity providing substantial scope for future customer growth. 

Campeys said the new site, which is net zero upon opening, represents a major milestone in its development and will strengthen its position as a specialist logistics and storage partner for the food manufacturing and retail sectors.

The site is expected to become fully operational before the end of 2026 and will also become Campeys’ new head office.

It will bring together the company’s offices, existing warehousing operations and its pallet network operations under one roof, creating a single, strategically located logistics hub and providing greater operational efficiency across the business. 

Campeys said the facility will support its next phase of growth, with further development planned throughout 2027. This will include 24/7 operations and extension of its BRCGS accreditation, enabling the business to further strengthen its capabilities in food-grade storage and distribution to support the demanding requirements of major UK retailers. 

Sherburn 42 is a new industrial scheme in North Yorkshire, which is well connected to the UK logistics network, including major motorways, the country’s largest port complex and local rail freight services. 

Pointing to its net carbon zero construction, BREEAM excellent rating, rainwater harvesting, solar PV and electric HGV charging infrastructure to power Campeys’ expanding fleet of electric trucks, the company said the facility aligns to its commitment to decarbonisation and net zero.

More than tripling our storage capacity gives us the scale and flexibility to support our existing customers while creating significant capacity for future growth.
