Brocklehurst Transport has added its first Renault truck to its 28-strong fleet, a T480 High TC 6x2 tractor unit.

Russell Pickup, fleet and compliance manager at the Dewsbury-based haulage firm, said: “For us, fuel efficiency is the key consideration for selecting a new vehicle and we were keen to test Renault Trucks’ Turbo Compound.

“Although the initial purchase price was above a competitor’s model, following a successful trial we were impressed with the fuel returns and could see the bigger picture for longer-term cost savings.”

The T480 High is pulling curtainsider trailers on general haulage and supermarket distribution on national runs and is finished in Brocklehurst Transport’s distinctive red livery.

Pickup added: “It has been extremely well received by the driver, who is out three-to-four nights a week, it ticks all the boxes and he’s happy with the in-cab convenience and comfort.”
