Bretts Transport has appointed its operations director Simon Stockwin as MD, replacing Simon Brett who becomes the Guyhirn haulier’s chief executive.

The restructure comes as the company reported a significant increase in enquiries from prospective customers, keen to benefit from its 93 years of business in the storage and distribution of ambient products.

Brett said it had been handling more sales leads in the past two months than in the last couple of years combined.

He added that in his new position as CEO he could focus on a more strategic role to steer the long-term direction of the business.

Brett said: “Like everyone else in the industry we have come up against some unprecedented challenges in the past few years, starting at the time of the pandemic and the lockdowns and continuing in the aftermath.
