Best Food Logistics has been appointed as the UK supply chain partner for fast-growing restaurant brand Slim Chickens, adding another major hospitality customer to its portfolio.

The foodservice logistics specialist will provide nationwide distribution and supply chain services for Slim Chickens as the US-founded quick-service restaurant brand continues its expansion across the UK.

Slim Chickens, which entered the UK market in 2018, now operates more than 70 restaurants across the country. The partnership with Best Food Logistics follows an onboarding programme involving both businesses to support availability and on-time deliveries across the restaurant network.

Best Food Logistics, part of Booker Group, operates a shared-user, multi-temperature food distribution network serving the hospitality and eating-out sector. Its customer base includes brands such as KFC, Taco Bell, Pret A Manger, ASK Italian, Nando’s, Zizzi, Burger King and Pizza Hut.

The company said its integrated supply chain model provides customers with end-to-end visibility and control, using its own depots, systems and fleet operations.

Ranjit Singh Boparan, president and owner of Slim Chickens’ parent company 2 Sisters Food Group, said the move to Best Food Logistics had been supported by a smooth transition process.

Best Food Logistics MD Paul Whyte said: “Operating a restaurant requires confidence in the supply chain and every delivery matters.”

He added that the partnership would support Slim Chickens’ continued growth in the UK market.
