AIT Home Delivery says it has established a two-person next-day delivery network in Germany less than a year after launching operations in the country.

The company, a subsidiary of AIT Worldwide Logistics, said it has secured a number of customer contracts and opened a warehousing and distribution facility in Hannover to support its expansion.

AIT Home Delivery launched its German operation in September 2025 as part of its strategy to expand its specialist home delivery services across mainland Europe.

According to AIT, the operation now provides next-day coverage to 94% of Germany’s main population centres through its two-person home delivery network.

The Hannover site has capacity for around 9,000 pallet spaces and acts as a hub for warehousing, order fulfilment and final-mile distribution.

Gary McKelvey, vice president of global home delivery at AIT, said Germany was selected following an assessment of European expansion opportunities because of its road infrastructure, economic scale and e-commerce market.

He said: “We assessed the opportunities across Europe and Germany emerged as the clear frontrunner. The country offers an excellent road network, highly concentrated population centres and the largest economy in Europe.”

AIT’s German operation offers a range of home delivery services, including nominated-day delivery, room-of-choice delivery, installation, assembly and packaging removal, alongside four-hour delivery windows and real-time customer updates.

McKelvey said the business was targeting both existing customers expanding into Germany and domestic German retailers seeking two-person home delivery services.

The company added that Germany’s central location would also support future expansion into neighbouring markets including Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Ryan Carter, executive vice president of global operations at AIT, said the German operation provides a platform for wider European growth.
