A haulier in Greater Manchester running 30 HGVs has collapsed into administration – two days before it was due to appear before the traffic commissioner (TC) to face possible disciplinary action.

K West Transport, which runs out of an operating centre in Swinton, was the subject of a winding up petition by Salford City Council, which said it was a creditor of the business.

However, records showed that the haulage firm appointed administrators at RCM Advisory on Monday (29 September).

The company holds an international operator licence for 30 lorries and 30 trailers in the North West traffic area and the region’s deputy TC Gerallt Evans is due to discuss its authorisation in Warrington on Wednesday (1 October).

TC records showed disciplinary action is to be considered under Sections 27 and 28 of the Act, which refer to revocation and disqualification.

A spokesman for the TC told Motor Transport that the hearing was still scheduled to take place and that the deputy TC was aware of its insolvency status.

K West Transport was incorporated in 2018 and lists Isporski Krum as its director. It has previously been the subject of winding petitions in 2023 and 2024, by different companies.

On both occasions the petitions were eventually withdrawn.

RCM Advisory had not responded to our enquiries before we went to press.
