Norbert Dentressangle has renewed and extended its contract with commercial floor coverings manufacturer Forbo Flooring UK  for three years.

The new part of the contract will see ND collect products from Forbo’s factories in Cortonwood Retail Park near Barnsley, Ripley in Derbyshire and Telford, before consolidation into the operator’s shared-user site in Warrington.

ND has held the contract since 1997 and was originally responsible for the storage and distribution of products from Kirkcaldy, Bamber Bridge in Lancashire, and seven factories across France, Russia, The Netherlands and Switzerland. It will continue to collect from these sites.

It will operate a dedicated fleet of six vehicles for Forbo, carrying 400 tonnes and making around 800 deliveries a week. The contract also includes investment in truck-mounted forklifts and a real time visibility system for Forbo’s customers.

Forbo’s head of customer service, Diane Gott, said the contract also includes the ability to scale-up operations as business grows.

“With all of our products now being delivered by a single partner from a single location, we are also now able to offer our customers a one-stop solution to all their flooring needs, along with improved visibility of their orders and a reduced environmental footprint,” Gott said.

Last month, Norbert Dentressangle reported a 2% increase in group turnover for the first nine months of this year.

It has also recently won contracts with Premdor UK, Tribesports and Surfdome.
