The family business, which runs a modern fleet of Volvo trucks and assorted trailers from their base in Kirby Hill in North Yorkshire, provides groupage, palletised and mixed loads to multiple destinations throughout the UK and Europe.

With a fifth wheel height of 1175mm, the Profi Liner curtainsiders come with a bespoke ‘Norwegian’ chassis design in which the axles and landing legs are set back around 25cm to accommodate a 3.1m wheelbase tractor with tag axle. This enables the curtainsiders to remain within the overall Euro vehicle length limit of 16.5m.

For maximum volume and loading height, and to comply with UK and European height limits, the Profi Liners are fitted with a lifting, sliding roof which allows operation in the UK at 4150m and in Europe at 4m.

The lifting roof raises 500mm above the lowest set operating position, for loading and unloading clearance, and can operate and run at three set height positions in 50mm increments). The curtain is fitted with Velcro to the inner surface, allowing the excess to be folded away easily when the roof is in the lowered position.

The trailers also sport a colour choice on the outside roof sheet edge -so Krone customers can also select the outside trim colour, above the pelmet. The main, top part of the roof sheet is in white to improve visibility.

The Profi Liners are finished with Krone KTL-Plus powder paint process, which underpins Krone 10-year guarantee against corrosion perforation.

To achieve optimum loading flexibility, the Profi Liners are fitted with the Krone Multi Lock load security system which, by featuring strapping points every 10cm along each side rave, enables most types of cargo to be safely secured at any point along the trailer bed.

The full specification also includes polished alloy wheels, reinforced parking brakes on all three axles and a 40 litre air tank for additional air volume. High intensity illumination is provided by Krone multi-functional rear LED clusters with additional reversing and working lights.

High security, flush-fit steel container-type rear doors enhance the robust overall construction and comply with the trailers’ Code XL EN12642 accreditation.

Director Tom Whincup said: ”We bought our first Krone trailers in 2006 and owing to its exceptional quality and versatile design, the equipment has become our default choice.

”Krone trailers easily handle the rigors of a demanding operation, are uniquely versatile and look fresh and strong after many years of operation. The build quality is second to none.”
