News UK and Telegraph Media Group (TMG) have signed a joint distribution deal with Ceva Logistics.
Ceva will continue to handle the distribution of newspapers for TMG, a contract which it had previously held, including The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, The Telegraph and the weekly world edition of The Telegraph.
In addition to these, the new part of the deal will see it deliver News UK’s publications including The Sun, The Times and the Sunday Times. For this part of the contract it has partnered with Downton which previously held the contact, a Downton spokesman said.
DHL also previously handled some of the distribution for News UK. It was unavailable to comment on whether it still held the contract.
TMG’s newspaper sales director David Greene said: “We are extremely pleased to extend our positive working relationships with both News UK and Ceva Logistics. This is an excellent opportunity to maximise supply chain efficiencies in an increasingly changing media environment.”
News UK’s chief operating officer Chris Taylor said the deal will allow it to promote and expand the distribution of its newspapers.
