Expanding the range of services it offers to its customers saw NR Evans’ turnover and pre-tax profit soar in the last financial year.
The company, which offers both haulage and warehousing services, made £2.4m pre-tax profit for the year ended 31 August 2015; a 58% increase on the previous year’s £1.5m.
Its turnover also grew by 24% to £41.2m (2014: £33.2m).
In the strategic report for the year, financial director Huw Edwards said the increase in activity was a result of “the group expanding the range of services it offers to its existing customers and also securing a number of new customers and contracts”.
He added that NR Evans had “undertaken a number of initiatives” to recruit and train new drivers, as well as retain its current staff.
The directors believed the rise in profitability and turnover will continue into “the foreseeable future”, he said.
