Kinaxia Logistics said it had strengthened its senior team with two new appointments that formed part of a management restructure.

Simon Nelson is now the company’s chief operating officer (COO) and Mark Tabor joins Kinaxia as commercial director.

Nelson joined Kinaxia and became MD of its contract distribution operations after it acquired Nelson Distribution from KNP Logistics Group last September.

Tabor has over 35 years’ experience in UK and European logistics, working with businesses including FedEx, Palletforce and Online MBT.

Kinaxia chief executive Michael Conroy said the appointments formed part of a strategy to work more closely with customers and deliver services more tailored to their needs: “This will enable us to get closer to them, better understand their needs and deliver a service which reflects this,” he said.

“In addition, Simon will also drive efficiency across the business using technology-enabled solutions that will boost productivity while further enhancing sustainability, allowing us to generate additional value for our customers.

“Mark will play a major role as we continue to align our commercial proposition to best serve the needs of our customers with the agility to flex to quickly meet the demands of a changing marketplace.”

Kinaxia employs more than 1,700 staff nationwide and has a fleet of 800 vehicles transporting goods for the retail, leisure, food and drink and manufacturing sectors.

Conroy succeeded Simon Hobbs as chief executive in January.
