After all the hard work put in by all the entrants to the 2014 MT Awards to hit the deadline of 28 March, last week it was the turn of our 60 independent judges to put in a shift and whittle them down to the select few who make up the shortlist.
Over a very full two days sequestered in a secret location - actually the Leicester Hilton Hotel - 19 judging panels deliberated, argued and eventually agreed on which entrants deserved to make it onto the shortlist.
As ever we are immensely grateful to all our expert judges - drawn from a wide range of operators, suppliers and trade associations - for giving up their time. It is their efforts that ensure the awards are judged fairly and independently and The Hub salutes you all.
The results of their deliberations will be revealed in the 28 April issue of Motor Transport, and on that same date we will post a video sponsored by Goodyear announcing the shortlist on the MT Awards website.
