The 2020 Motor Transport Awards have been rescheduled to 17 November to minimise the risk of disruption due to the coronavirus.
The biggest event in the road transport calendar was originally planned for 1 July and later postponed to 27 August but, with uncertainty remaining over when the government lockdown will end, Motor Transport is delighted to have secured a November date at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane.
“As no one yet knows for sure when government restrictions on large gatherings will end, Motor Transport is very pleased to have agreed this postponement with the Grosvenor House,” said MT editor Steve Hobson. “We are confident that by November the pandemic will have done its worst and the road transport industry will be bouncing back from this traumatic period. It will be the perfect time to celebrate the industry’s outstanding achievements in 2019.”
The format of the event will not change significantly, with the usual top class entertainment, wining and dining as well as the presentation of the 20 iconic bronze Motor Transport Awards by a well-known celebrity. The presentation will again be followed by an after-show party with live music and dancing as well as the charity casino in support of Transaid.
