Michelin has pledged to fundraise £25,000 for charity Transaid after renewing its membership with the international development organisation.
The renewal extends a relationship that began when Transaid was founded by Save the Children, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) in 1998.
Michelin intends to fundraise the money in cycle challenge sponsorship this year.

Chris Smith (pictured), Michelin Tyre MD, said: “Transaid holds a special significance within Michelin because we have been closely involved since the very beginning.
“We are regularly humbled by their achievements and it gives us a great sense of pride to know we are directly supporting the huge impact they have on the ground in sub-Saharan Africa.”
In addition to pledging financial support, Smith will lead a six-strong Michelin team in Transaid's Malawi cycle challenge in September to raise additional funds.
