Online group-buying platform Retailersaver.com has chosen Menzies Distribution as its logistics partner.
The 12-month contract will be managed from Menzies’ Rushden site, but the operator’s entire network will be used to provide warehousing and fulfilment of stock. It will also deliver products directly to independent high street stores.
Also under the deal, Menzies will develop a series of tailored marketing campaigns for Retailersaver, which provides independent shops with discounted FMCG products such as confectionery, alcohol and soft drinks.
Menzies’ head of business development Kent Smith said: “Not only do we have the network, knowledge and fleet to fulfil these deliveries, but we are one of only a few companies that can support this with an integrated marketing operation.
“Day or night, we’ll be able to get stock safely and reliably to retailers when they need it," added Smith.
Menzies Distribution earlier this year claimed it was in “advanced discussions” with retailers about extending its high street logistics venture, which was launched to utilise its fleet after its core newspaper deliveries have been made.
