JPE HOLDINGS

Based in the West Midlands, JPE Holdings is a family-run haulier that has specialised in the delivery of virgin, recycled, and blended aggregates to customers that serve or operate in the construction and highways industries.

Launched in 1994, the company is committed to operational and technological excellence across all areas of its 24/7 logistics operation, helping it to maintain an impressive compliance and safety record.

As a member of the DVLA’s Earned Recognition scheme since 2020, JPE has achieved an overall weighted compliance score of 99.12% for both drivers and vehicles and is also FORS Gold accredited.

“An SME business proving it can be done with limited resources,” commented one of our judges.

“The company is clearly forward-looking and has achieved numerous accreditations from within the industry. The tachograph infringement stands at 0.63% and there is also accreditation from HS2.

“The statistics are exemplary and that can only be achieved through leadership at the top and teamwork throughout the organisation.

“Clearly a firm that relies upon professionalism. The statistics are hard earned and are built on operational excellence at every level. This is a calculated approach to ensure excellence that is delivered in its statistics. If you're looking for a formula for greatness the closest you'll ever get is consistency – and the consistency here should be applauded.”

Another judge pointed to the company’s successful implementation of camera technology to enable live event viewing in respect of incidents and the safety of vehicles, drivers and other road users, plus its use of the Volvo Connect interface to assist with delivery planning of a particular vehicle and drivers’ time availability for a specific job.

“This is a profitable business operating to a high standard and demonstrating high service levels, high compliance and high tacho management,” the judge concluded.

“We’ve got an operational excellence score of 99% – everyone is doing their best in terms of compliance”
