Meachers Global Logistics said it was investing more than £1m into its business as part of a long-term strategy to expand its operations.

The investment included the acquisition of six tractor units and 10 trailers, with six of the trailers co-branded with long-standing customer Prysmian Cables and Systems.

Gary Whittle, Meachers commercial director, said: “Prysmian is a valued partner, and we’re pleased to strengthen our relationship with them through this fleet expansion.

“We’re building for the future to ensure that Meachers becomes bigger and more resilient.”

The company added that the investment extended beyond fleet expansion and that it was also bolstering its team, with appointments in key management roles.

Mark Lee has joined as general manager, leading freight forwarding activities, while Emma Newman has taken on the role of warehouse operations manager, bringing her logistics expertise to strengthen the company’s operational framework.

Newman was recently awarded warehouse manager of the year at the UK Warehousing Association awards 2024.
