Maritime Transport has ordered 30 new Volvo FH Globetrotter XL tractor units.
The order follows the operator’s purchase of 100 Lawrence David trailers last month.
Maritime said it chose the FH as it is pleased with the “fantastic” running costs of those already on its 1,500-strong fleet, and that they had had “resoundingly positive” feedback from drivers.
Fleet engineer Stuart Wardlaw said: “It made perfect sense to expand on our range with these new vehicles. The feedback we’ve had from our drivers on them has been resoundingly positive as well, which was another factor we bore in mind when preparing this order.”
Mike Corcoran, Volvo Trucks commercial director, added: “As a leader in its field, Maritime’s values align closely with those of Volvo - not just in terms of quality, but also safety and care for the environment.”
The new vehicles are due for delivery in September.
