Marine Harvest has extended its contract with Highlands-based Ferguson Transport to include deliveries of fish feed to salmon farms.
The Lochaber-based firm has worked with Marine Harvest for over 30 years and the extension of the contract will see it deliver feed to farms on the west coast, including 28 farms across the Highlands and the Western Isles, as well as processing sites at Fort William and Mallaig.
Marine Harvest Scotland MD Alan Sutherland said: “Ferguson Transport has been a trusted partner of Marine Harvest for many years, working with us to develop new vehicles and vessels adapted to meet the requirements of our business.”
The deal will create 20 new jobs at Kishorn, Corpach and Mallaig, as well as securing existing jobs.
Ferguson Transport MD Alasdair Ferguson said: “We’re proud of our roots in Lochaber, the home of salmon farming in the UK, and proud of the part we continue to play in the success of Scottish salmon.”
