LaFarge and Tarmac owner Anglo American have revealed the executive team that will oversee their UK joint venture.
Jamie Pike has been named as the venture’s non-executive chairman, Cyrille Ragoucy as chief executive and Guy Young as chief financial officer (CFO).
Pike was chief executive of Foseco, a business serving the foundry and steel making industries. Ragoucy is senior v-p of health and safety for Lafarge, while Young is CFO at Tarmac.
The joint venture will combine Tarmac's and Lafarge's cement, aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, asphalt, and waste services businesses in the UK.
It is expected to commence operations in early 2013 once final clearance is received from the Competition Commission.
Tarmac is currently in consultation with staff over the implications of the joint venture.
