Kuehne+Nagel has launched new service options for its MedTech industry clients in Europe, helping them with transport needs not covered by quality and safety guidelines.
It said the MedTech industry was growing due to the introduction of technologies addressing the needs of aging populations and patients with increasingly prevalent diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma and heart failure.
K+N said its new extended offering met a demand for logistics services that do not have to fulfil GxP requirements, but still need to meet elevated safety and quality requirements of high value medical and diagnostics devices.
The service is available in the UK, as well as in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy.
Products are transported within K+N’s reliable network and trained experts in MedTech competence centres provide a centralised customer service and handle unexpected deviations.
Depending on the chosen service option, MedTech or MedTech+, customers can also rely on regular consignment inspections, end-to-end visibility and white glove deliveries, including device installation and removal of packing material.
Joerg Woyke, K+N global head of road logistics healthcare, said: “What is exceptional is that customers can also choose this service option for groupage shipments.
“We can guarantee the quality through focused investments in safety procedures, skilled staff and specially equipped cross-docks and stations. Even when GxP compliancy is not required for medical devices, sensitive handling is highly important.”
