KNP Logistics Group

The Kettering warehouses, offices and yards of Knights of Old, which went into administration in September, have gone up for sale for £8.25m this week.

The property, which is the former headquarters Knights of Old, is located on the Kettering Venture park, next to junction 9 of the A14. The site has been put up for sale - either as one lot or separately - by Birmingham-based Watling Real Estate Logistics.

Knights of Old was part of KNP Logistics Group and included Nelson Distribution, Steve Porter Transport, and Merlin Supply Chain Solutions. The group employed more than 750 employees and had a fleet of 350 trucks and 500 trailers, as well as 55,000 sq m of distribution space.

The group fell into financial trouble following a major ransomware attack in June this year and went into administration in September with Rajnesh Mittal and Philip Armstrong of FRP Advisory Trading appointed as joint administrators of the main trading entities in the group.

Shortly after calling in the administrators, Kinaxia Logistics acquired the trade and assets of KNP Logistics subsidiary Nelson Distribution.

The property, which has been put up for sale this week, includes two modern distribution warehouses, known as units 2300 and 2350, totalling about 118,337 sq ft on an 8.11-acre site. Unit 2300 has a modern detached warehouse with a two-storey block, a large concrete yard and parking. The second site - Unit 2350 - sits in 6.97 acres and has a ‘substantial’ modern detached distribution warehouse and office accommodation.

Offers in the order of £8.25m are invited for the freehold interest. Offers for the constituent parts may also be considered, according to Watling Real Estate Logistics.
