Kuehne + Nagel Drinks Logistics (KNDL) has said its plan to restructure its drinks distribution network remains in place, despite industrial action by Unite members last week.
Members of the union carried out a 24-hour strike earlier this month and were engaged in an indefinite ban on overtime and a work to rule at 29 KNDL sites until this week.
However, KNDL announced this week that all industrial action by Unite over the plan had been halted, following “considerable progress” at meetings between senior KNDL managers and Unite representatives.
A spokeswoman for the 3PL told Motortransport.co.uk the plan, which involves moving drinks distribution to three regional DCs supported by a number of nationwide transit points, was still something the firm intended to pursue.
“We are still planning the restructure,” she confirmed. “We are working closely with Unite to review the changes we have already made this year and to engage further with them regarding the next phase of changes in 2014.”
