Consortium Jigsaw Solutions is introducing six double-deck trailers on its Indesit contract in a move that will cut out an estimated 340,000 road miles annually.
Moving goods from the white goods manufacturer’s central DC in Raunds, Northamptonshire, to six home delivery satellite warehouses using the new Cartwright trailers should save around 25 weekly vehicle journeys.
Andy Humpherson, MD at Jigsaw Solutions, says: “These new trailers represent a significant investment by our business and will enhance our ability to provide a highly efficient, sustainable and dedicated service to Indesit.”
Jigsaw, which consists of eight regional hauliers, has transported goods for Indesit for five years.
