Iveco has opened a parts distribution centre (PDC) in Witham, Essex with an aim of decreasing the fulfilment times for key replacement parts.
It said the PDC will operate as a support beam for the primary facility in Daventry, holding key components that are in demand, but traditionally suffer from supply chain difficulties related to importing parts from mainland Europe.
The Witham PDC will also stock components needed for national-level fleets.
In partnership with Harris Holdings, Iveco said the facility would help reduce downtime for fleets by ensuring strong parts availability.
Gordon Down, Iveco UK head of part sales, said: “Iveco is proud to open this new PDC in Witham, marking its commitment to customers.
“Our ambition is to strengthen our supply chain, lowering tensions brought by Brexit, and keeping our customer’s fleets up and running.”
