Knowles Logistics said 94% of its materials handling fleet was now operating on electric power as the company charges ahead with its commitment to reducing emissions.

Across its estate, 104 of the firm’s 111 forklifts are now fully electric and it is delivering annual carbon savings of 500 tonnes.

As part of the transition, Knowles recently added eight Linde E16-20 electric forklifts at its Wimblington site, which also feature enhanced all-round visibility, intelligent speed reduction when cornering and advanced load handling assistance systems.

Alex Knowles, CEO, Knowles Logistics, said: “Reaching 94% electrification across our forklift fleet is a significant achievement and demonstrates the progress we are making towards achieving our net zero journey.

“Every investment we make is carefully considered to ensure it delivers benefits for our customers, our operation and the environment.”
