Skills for Logistics (SfL) has relaunched its Delivering Your Future website, which aims to get young people interested in a career in logistics.
Although officially launched in November 2011, SfL is making a new marketing push with backing from the likes of DHL and the FTA, in a bid to boost the website’s profile and get its message out to a wider audience.
Delivering Your Future is tailored to 11 to 19 years olds. It features company profiles of the likes of Stobart Group, Royal Mail and Pickfords; information on the different roles available within the industry; video case studies; and the game Articulated Monkeys, as part of a package designed to showcase the sector.
Helen Parker, DHL UK foundation manager says: “This website clearly demonstrates how fulfilling a career in logistics can be.
“We would encourage logistics businesses across the UK to support this website which is promoting logistics as a vibrant career choice for young people.”
Theo de Pencier, chief executive of the FTA, says: “The logistics industry must communicate better with young people if we are to attract them and gain from their talent.
“I would encourage companies in our sector to put their weight and support behind this excellent initiative so that more young people make logistics their career choice.”
SfL invites employers to link to the website or email info@deliveringyourfuture.co.uk to play a more active role.
