Helen Hardy has been appointed chief executive of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK (CILT UK), after seven months as interim CEO.

Announcing her appointment, CILT UK said the move “reflects the strong leadership, stability and progress delivered during her interim tenure, as well as the board’s confidence in her ability to lead the Institute through its next phase of development”.

The decision follows an extensive recruitment process, CILT UK added, with the board concluding that Hardy’s impact in the role and her clear vision for the future made her the outstanding candidate.

Anna-Jane Hunter, hair of the CILT UK board, said: “Helen has demonstrated clear leadership, strong delivery and a deep understanding of CILT (UK)’s role as the professional body for logistics, transport and supply chain.

“Her appointment provides continuity and confidence as we continue to strengthen our influence, support our members and champion the profession.”

During her time as Interim CEO, Hardy has worked closely with members, volunteers and staff, ensuring organisational stability while maintaining momentum across the Institute’s strategic priorities.

Commenting on her appointment as chief executive, Hardy said: “It has been a privilege to lead CILT (UK) over the past seven months, and I am delighted to be taking on the role of chief executive on a permanent basis. I am incredibly proud of the work of our team and excited about what we can achieve together.

“Our focus remains on supporting our members, strengthening professional standards and ensuring CILT (UK) continues to be a strong, authoritative voice for the logistics, transport and supply chain sector.”
