Rhenus Ireland has doubled the capacity of its Rhenus Parkmore campus in Galway, Ireland, with the addition of a new BREEAM certified warehouse.
The newly built facility, which had a construction lead time of 17 months, measures 20,000sq m. The total warehouse space spans 9,284sq m, providing accommodation for 14,000 pallets. A flexible mezzanine space of 4,000sq m is also available for customised configurations, tailored to clients’ specific requirements.
As part of Rhenus Ireland’s strategy to deliver supply chain excellence, the new warehouse on the west coast of Ireland will expand the services and solutions available to both regional and foreign direct investment customers in Ireland, while serving the growing MedTech and pharmaceutical sectors.
The expansion follows Rhenus Ireland’s acquisition of Galway-based ISO-registered and AEO-certified business Source & Supply Logistics in 2021.
Ricky Conneely from IDA Ireland - Ireland’s investment promotion and development agency - and the Deputy Mayor of Galway City, Councillor Donal Lyons, attended the official opening ceremony at the Rhenus Parkmore facility last week.
Declan Sinnott, Rhenus Ireland MD said: “I am delighted this new BREEAM certified warehouse has been completed – aligning well with our sustainability values here at Rhenus Ireland.
“The expanding of the Rhenus Parkmore campus will build on our existing customer relationships and provide the opportunity to grow new ones. This facility is part of our ongoing development plan to increase our logistics capacity for customers in Ireland.”
Dr Stephan Peters, member of the management board of the Rhenus Group, said: “Today’s opening of this warehouse will allow Rhenus Ireland to unlock new opportunities and develop partnerships with local businesses to provide world-class logistics and supply chain solutions.
“We are excited to further develop our capacity and to connect our Irish customers more closely with Europe and the world.”
