Swindon Truckstop, which has undergone a major refurbishment, is now open, OnRoute Truckstops has announced.

Situated just off the A420, not far from Junction 15 of the M4, the site now boasts a new access and security system and is working on being accredited with TAPA level 3.

It also has three additional HGV parking bays, and a completely refurbished service building which includes a new café and modern welfare facilities.

The site also features a fully automated 24/7 HGV fuelling station with diesel, HVO and AdBlue, floodlit parking for over 80 vehicles, a café serving freshly cooked meals, and essential on-site amenities.

OnRoute said the inclusion of HVO at the Swindon site reflects its commitment to supporting customers through the energy transition and recognises  “the increasing pressure on fleet operators to reduce emissions and publish environmental data”.

André Cardoso, SVP sales and marketing at OnRoute’s parent company MB Energy, said the launch of the refurbished facility, which took place last Friday (16 January) “marks an exciting milestone for Onroute Truckstops and our continued investment in critical infrastructure for the UK logistics and transport sector”.

He added: “It reflects our broader strategy to invest in the right assets, expand our portfolio and provide agile, future-ready solutions that support customers through the energy transition.”

Florian Lueckmann, MB Energy director commercial road transport, said: “The refurbished Swindon facility exemplifies our commitment to driver welfare, safety, security and services for those who keep our economy moving.

“We are proud to open this enhanced facility and look forward to welcoming drivers and travellers from across Europe.”

OnRoute is part of the MB Energy group’s commercial road transport unit which offers fuel card services and operates more than 300 conventional fuels stations within the tankpool24 network, which includes over 2,000 fuelling locations across Europe.
